Any advice for taking kids for their first game?

Am going to take my four kids ( all under 10) to their first WH game v Birmingham in the cup. Can anyone give me the best advice on which part of the LS to go to? I’ve been a few times but I’m not familiar with the stadium and any family set up. Thanks.

I took my son to local lower league football first to check his interest. His West Ham game was away at Forest he jumped and gripped my hand as “Bubbles” rang out loud as we entered the ground. Got his first season ticket age 5 and still goes now aged 26.

bring chocolate. Mine started going when around 4 and tended to be more interested in the buses going behind the old Bobby Moore than anything else.
I'll wave goodbye when you leave after 75 minutes.

My sons first game was fulham away NYE when Nolan got sent off. He was 6 and loved it.
Upper tier for the game - try and get in the corners.
The language isnt great - but no worse than you here if you take them shopping in the average high street for a few hours these days (sadly).
'IF I HEAR IT AT HOME YOU AREN'T COMING AGAIN' worked - but now he's at secondary school I can blame that.
try and get close to the warm up (stratford side) c230 - depending on where your tickets are and how alert the stewards are you may be able to get by the tunnel area if you are hackney wick side. Don't expect any autographs from those not playing though - in 2 years only Pedro stopped to pause for a photo, and Antonio (and Stuart Pearce) signed something.
A selfie with Hammerhead or Bubbles the bear may be all you get.

Don't take them if they're under 7. Or if you do bring an ipad or colouring book or something.
Also it depends on the kids. Mine were OK from about 7. I've taken their mates sometimes and they might be 9 or 10 and are still a pain in the arse. Some kids just have no concentration span.

Reminded me of when I took my daughter (she was 7) and she asked me;
"Dad, why are we singing 'stand up if you hate my wall"?
I still chuckle at that now!

Jesus. Got Your hands full Lizard. Fairplay. Wicked game for first time. Hope you all have a blinder.
Haven't been enough but each time saw kids in every part i have sat with parents and generally people around respectful that kids r present. Oh East London is full of. They can sing it at school the next day. :)

I took my 6 year old daughter to the Stoke game last season, she must of misheard and started shouting "Come on you Lions". Luckily the crowd around us found it funny as I was forcing her to eat her rolo's to shut her up.
She loves her football and her "Irons" now, and we been a few times since.

Get seats at the front of the upper tier, lower tier has a lot of people staning so they won’t enjoy it.

I first went when I was eight and I loved it, it was the perfect age. I think if you habe to take an ipad/sweets to entertain them then they are probably too young

Get in the tube at West Ham and let them just listen. They’ll love the swearing, go nuts for Bubbles (providing you’ve educated them properly) and will have a day they’ll always remember for the rest of their lives. Take pics/videos and sit as near to the pitch as you can.
You’ll have a blast and will enjoy it immensely. I did and still do.

My son is 23 now and has never seen a game live as he lives in the States bit never misses a game online.
He texted me this after the Palace game..

Some blokes have to swear every other word, it's makes them feel like hard men. Normally accompanied by a low IQ and a fear of ever appearing less than a bloody bloke.

I have took my boy(age 7) 3 times now.. started with the loss against Bournemouth, then again Burnley and Palace.
He absolutely loves it and isn't just celebrating the goals now he is understanding more of the game and gets excited when we get on the ball. He loves Chicharito and Anderson but even said to me against Palace how strong Rice looks.
The look on his face when Snoddy scored and then when Anderson curled it in was for me priceless.
There is nothing better than seeing your own flesh and blood celebrating goals and going just as mad as you.
At school its most of the usual teams, he wears west ham with pride.
